May 27 - SHAKEDOWN RUN

The team did a complete 150 mile shakedown run out past the Salton Sea to Mecca. Pete said he didn't think it could have been any better than it was. Only one flat, no casualties. We have a few things to tweak before the big race but that is expected. Camera crew went along and got lots of pictures and some were funny enough to be used later as blackmail!! Ha!Ha!
The worst part of the ride was after 2 pulls, Chelsea, the only female on the team, said,"Oh no - I don't smell like a girl anymore!"

A Busy Memorial Day weekend ahead

The Memorial Day weekend will be a busy one for the NOrth Coast Cycling Team, as they have five interval repeats to do on Camino Del Rey on Saturday, and then they are planning a full blown Dres Rehearsal on Sunday.
They will be riding the first 150+ miles of the official RAAM course (and about 7,000 feet of climbing!). They'll begin in Bonsall and will be riding out to the Salton Sea, and then north to Indio/Mecca, stopping when we get to I-10. They'll ride in their two 4-man groups to practice their rolling exchanges and the movement of the 4 support vehicles.
